Party “We choose healthy future” (slide1)
H 1: Good day dear
friends! We are glad to see you at our today’s performance on topic “We choose
healthy future”. Today you will listen to our presentation on bad habits and
physical activities which can make our life healthier. However, we have you
here not only to entertain but to inform about serious problems we are facing
as teenagers. We hope you enjoy our performance.
H 2: All young people
have got similar problems. We want to go our own way, have our own style of
clothes and to be independent. But usually we don’t know how to do that. Our
parents are often busy earning money for bringing and educating us and can’t
help us in time. That’s why we easily come under the influence of other people.
We find idols among famous singers, sportsman, actors and politicians. We try
to copy them blindly from hairstyles and clothes to bad habits such as smoking,
alcohol drinking and even using drugs. All these bad habits lead to ADDICTION.
(slide 2)
H
1: Famous people who lived long ago and those who are living now have
something to say you about people’s bad habits. Let’s listen to their wisdom
and the song prepared by our girls.
P 1: “It is easier to prevent
bad habits than to break them”
(Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers
of US)
P 2: “I think if you stop bad
habits, and you stop long enough, you develop good habits”
(Jordan Knight, American singer)
P 3: “Be careful who you
choose as your friends because their bad habits can become your bad habits. Choose wisely … We all have a
choice in life.”
(Mimi Jenkins)
P 4: “If you are young and you
drink a great dill it will spoil your health , slow your mind, make you fat – in other words, turn into an
adult”
(P.J. O’Rourke, American journalist and writer)
P 5: “Avoid using cigarettes,
alcohol, and drugs as alternatives to being an interesting person”
(Marilyn vos Savant, playwright and
journalist)
P 6: “Go for your dreams,
forget the drugs, stay in school, get your education and don’t let anyone pull you down” (Michael Walden, American producer, singer and songwriter) (slide 3)
Song “You make me wanna die”
H 2: Our younger
pupils also know about bad habits.
Rhyme
Bad habits are like trap for the mouse
They catch you in and never let you
out
Always say “no” to them
Listen to me!
And you will live long
And you will live free (slide 4)
H
1: As you can see famous people warn us against bad habits. They know
from their own experience how much damage they can cause. But how much do we
know about alcohol, drugs and cigarettes? Listen to our presentation and you
will learn more.
P 1: The greatest drug harm
caused in our society comes from legal drugs, alcohol and tobacco. They have
become the part of almost every celebration. Their aim is to help a person feel
more relaxed or less anxious and thus make children fall into them.
P 2: From a very young age,
kids see advertising messages showing beautiful people enjoying life to the
fullest. And because many parents and other adults use alcohol and smoke
socially it seems harmless to many teenagers.
P 3: The reasons why teenagers
start using drugs are very simple. Some teenagers believe drugs will help them
think better, be more popular, stay more active, or become better athletes.
Others are simply curious and figure one try won’t hurt. Some of them want to
fit in. A few use drugs to gain attention from their parents.
P 4: The impression of drinking and smoking is that you look cool but
teenagers who use them put themselves at risk for obvious problems with law and
health. Teenagers who use drugs are more likely to commit crimes than those who
don’t.
P 5: Use of alcohol greatly
increases the chance of road traffic accident. People who drink regularly often
have problems with school. Drinking can damage student’s ability to study well
and get descent grades. (slide 5)
H 2: We have prepared a short
video for you to learn more about the effect of the alcohol.
Video from Youtube “What Alcohol Does to
Your Body” (time 2min)
P 6: People who smoke have to
put up with a lot of bad things to continue their smoking. Their hair, clothes
and breath smell of smoke. Teeth and fingers go yellow, skin looks unhealthy
and grey. Their sense of smell and taste are effected. (slide 6)
H
1: If you don’t believe us watch the video to make sure we tell the
truth.
Video from Youtube “Harmful Effects of
Tobacco on the Human. Educational video for children.” (time 8min,
fragment)
P 7: Alcohol and other drug
use play a significant role in the spread of HIV, the virus which causes AIDS.
(slide 7)
Song Down Low “HIV” (fragment)
(Senior pupils write words (or take already
written words) to make up a sentence “We choose healthy life with no drugs” while
younger form a flower on the board adding petals)
Life is - amazing
- incredible
- colourful
- unique
-
precious
- wonderful
P 8: Very often drugs become
the reason of death. The pain and the loneliness we feel because of the loss of
the dearest people will stay with us forever. (slide 8)
Song Backstreet Boys “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely”
H 2: Dear friends
let’s promise ourselves we shall never use any kinds of drugs. Remember our
life is precious!
H 1: In contrast with
bad habits we should try to develop the good ones like doing sports, eating
healthy food and living active life. (slide 9)

homework in the evenings. If I have free time, I watch films, play computer games all the
night.
A: And when do you sleep?
B: You see, I usually sleep at
the lessons at school.
“The Secret of Smoking”
H 1: A doctor, on his
morning walk, noticed an older lady sitting on her front step smoking a cigar,
so he walked up to her and said:
Doctor: “I couldn’t help but notice how
happy you look! What is your secret?”
An older lady: “I smoke ten cigars a day.
Apart from that, I drink a can of beer every day and eat only junk food. At weekends I take pills and don’t exercise at
all.”
Doctor: “That is
absolutely amazing! How old are you?”
An older lady:
“Thirty-four”

1: Time spending with friends is an important part of our social life. If
all your friends smoke or drink alcohol and you don’t want to, it can be hard
to say “No, thanks”. No one wants to feel rejected but you should say yourself
not to follow their advice, even if they pick on you. Remember it’s OK to say
“no” like this guy does.
